I'd say that about 80% or more of the fanfiction I write is genfic with homoerotic subtext. [...] As a result, my stories tend to get labeled pretty arbitrarily, and I often change my labeling depending on how connected I'm feeling to my slash community at the time. As someone who writes the same way and has experienced similar feelings of arbitrariness at having to slot my fic into one category or another, I wondered in a recent post whether there might be a less restrictive label to apply to subtexty stories on the gen/slash borderline, and was quite charmed by lydiabell's suggestion of BYOG (Bring Your Own Goggles) (http://nindulgence.livejournal.com/40037.html?thread=212581#t212581).
