But, alas, it doesn't pick up comments to my comments in other people's LJs right? I should go check--i posted a bunch in a community the other night and haven't seen any response, but they may be there.

Yeah, that is a pain about it (though you can see your 'recent comments posted' and click through to follow up yourself).

Then again, you were expecting LJ to be wholly, logically useful? ;)
