i think what you've done - go overseas alone, find work, make a break with your hometown and try something new - is both really hard and incredibly brave. don't underestimate yourself - it's a big thing to do. i know a lot of people travel, but this isn't like that, and you'll gain heaps of confidence from it - even if your professional aspirations don't completely work themselves out in the short-term (although there doesn't seem to be any danger of that happening). you've taken the risk, and succeeded...basically, you now rule the universe!
