I'm not sure how the conversation started-- actually, I think it was a particularly entertaining fanfiction.net summary, but it resulted in one of those half-bullshitting, half-storytime conversations. Which amand_r posted. And laurab1 proceeded to make fanart for. Then, of course, feeling bored and writerly and a bit inspired, I scribbled out amand_r's preferred version. So then she wrote mine.

IT'S A GIANT CIRCUS OF CORSETRY. Frankly, it's all very exhausting, and I'm ready to go back to writing nice, staid gen, now. Like the rest of my Torchwood fic.

I'm afraid to mention what I thought of, weeks ago when I read a fic where Jack had Ianto in a skirt or something (just the skirt) where Jack's trying to get Ianto to wear a schoolgirl skirt and Ianto is saying no, and trying to determine why Jack would want such a thing. Jack thinks it's because Ianto is uptight but turns out the following week when he's meeting Ianto for dinner and Ianto shows up completely dressed up in dress and wig and makeup, that Ianto was simply aghast at Jack's choice of outfit.
