oh please tell me they become space pirates! They would so totally rock. And then the Doctor would find them and try to scold them and they would all protect Jack and tell the Doctor to go away, because clearly, if he cared for Jack he would have made sure he hadn't abandoned him. Again.

Nice au. I like the glimpses of the team that we see and how they decide to go after Jack themselves, rather than wait for him to just show up.

That constitutes fic edging of the most reprehensible sort. The kind that makes your readers whine for more.

We must have adventures! And spaceship porn! And more Ianto in a bad uniform looking yummy anyway! And what about Jack's coat? (Ianto's probably on it, since we already know canonically that he had every Army Surplus store in the UK filed for reference, so why not in the galaxy?)

Well, my theory in this verse is that post-Jack's departure, Gwen's increased dedication to Torchwood is enough to fracture that relationship. So in this case, Rhys is probably dumped (or dumper) and left behind.
