Wow. That was...yeah. Really really good. I especially like the first one, in spite of the disturbingness, because your girl!Casey is so very believably CASEY, except female. Yes. Coherency good. *thumbs up*
Oh. Oh oh oh. So much to love here - you pushed the boundries every direction of what could be done with this challenge and this character. I enjoyed it a whole bunch of a lot, and I especially like (argh! how to single one out of this bunch?) the one with Kate innit. Because that's all kinds of clever. But they're alll faaabulous.
I loved it right up until the vampires came out. Seriously, as strange as that sounds. I loved all of the characters and their relationships, and the story was smart and well-written, but I would have much rather seen it continue in the crime-movie vein than veer off into horror. I think maybe because they took too long to get to the vampires? I was already set up for a different kind of movie by the time Salma went all red-hot vampiress on poor Quentin.
But Kate and Casey -- all kinds of fun to be had by mixing and matching them!
i don't think i would have enjoyed it half as much if it hadn't gone the way it did. i found the crime-movie vein of it mediocre, no different from anything i'd seen before. i loved the absolute mess and implausibility of chucking the vampires in, and chucking them in that late.
yes, it was definitely an extremely flawed film, but i have a great fondness for extremely flawed films, and rodriguez seems an expert at doing the flawed thing well ;)
and i just can't forget kate at the end of it - one of my favourite characters ever. :)
This is so very good. I haven't seen "From dusk til dawn" so number two had me a little confused, but still... so great. I love the Pacey part, and the first part, and... well, everything.
ah, i understand now! how thouroughly awful for poor female!casey..... i can hardly stand to read stuff like that, but then... i can, if it's written well. still, it makes me feel a little queasy.
but yeah, i'd say the last two are my favourites because... well, four is delicious stream-of-consciousness and i love being inside the panic and the detached horror.... i'm a masochist, what can i say? but then, you wrote it, so i'm sure you understand.
and then of course number five, which is hushed and erotic in an understated way. i crave more but i know that that bit is as finished as it can be, and that's perhaps best.
as you can see, i'm much better at feedback when i'm a bit more removed from my first reading of it. ^_^
I love 1, 4, and 5. So good! You have a mastery of descriptive language. And there was something about you describing that orange light and the car's headlights sweeping through the room in that last one that was just . . . bril. Very nice.
yay! i'm glad you liked it. it turned out so much longer than i anticipated, especially #2. <3 Kate! i watched FDTD again last night and ahsdlsahdlased all over her again.

"white H" = the H's printed on the footballers' jerseys. (H for Herrington Hornets)
