that's really impressive. I'm not quite sure I know what an echidna is, but I think it's a kind of animal. If so, how did you get it to stand still long enough to take this picture?
aaah. I imagine yesterday's trip wouldn't have been the same had father NOT kicked some wildlife off the road and down an escarpment. Good of you to snap a pic on it's way
obviously they have quite effective defense systems, so they really don't give a fuck how close you are. this one just curled up when i approached it and i was able to poke it and crouch right next to it. if you stay still for long enough they poke their head out again and keep getting on with their business (in this case, it was feasting on a large bull-ants' nest).
