I think I enjoyed the opening scene the most -- the tension paired with the desolate location. It had a post-apocalyptic kind of feel, which was fitting. Apocalypse narrowly avoided.
And your Jack-meeting-himself brought back shades of my own similar related story, which sits buried on my other computer, nearly a year old itself. I think I might go diving into my own archives of the old and abandoned.
Did you can the story just because it got old enough to lose your enthusiasm/interest, or do you think the story itself really wasn't solid? It looks like it was solid from here. I would have been really interested to see the dynamics unfold, and the thought of Jack and Lisa kicking ass side by side is just well, totally kickass.
