Did you can the story just because it got old enough to lose your enthusiasm/interest, or do you think the story itself really wasn't solid? It looks like it was solid from here. I would have been really interested to see the dynamics unfold, and the thought of Jack and Lisa kicking ass side by side is just well, totally kickass.
I still love the story, and think it would definitely be solid. But I've kinda moved on from the themes I wanted to explore with it. I'm no longer in the headspace where I want to write a damaged, angry Lisa. I want to write a story where she kicks arse for being her, instead of kicking arse in reaction to the shit that's happened to her. I want to write a story about her being empowered from the get-go, rather than fighting against the massive disempowerment she's suffered.
