you know, fade out is still one of my favourite stories. liek, that's how you do angst, folks. there are a few parts in it that i would change, myself - a word or phrase here or there - that i feel state things *too* clearly, but that might be because i've read it so many times. it's not 'physically' graphic, but the satisfaction it gives you is almost as visceral as if it were; it just hits the emotional buttons right. on. target., you know? you don't have to be a hurt/comfort whore to like it. it's just that it's crafted so well that you're affected by it, willingly or not. i have to admit that it partly inspired me to write beauty sleep. because where fade out ends, you can't comprehend it continuing on from there. like, it's not like the author chose to end it there. it's like that's where it ends. i can't imagine elijah getting off that couch again, but i can't help but *try* to. and with the way the 'ghost' is so subtly crafted in 'herself', she just suits her purpose there so well that you never question her presence or existence. magic realism at its best!

but anyway. hi!
