OKAY. so. i made a facklety playlist a couple of weeks ago, and like it quite a bit. almost as much as my treesome playo fucklist. my housemates, however, are frequently baffled and exasperated as to my song choices.
baylorsr just posted her themed playlists the other day, so hah! why not.
most of the songs i choose for playlists just... they don't always have a literal connection (like n*sync's choreography. hahah. haha.hah. *puke*), but often it's just the feel/tone behind it that puts me in the same mindspace. or something in it will have a random link, in my head, that'll make me think of it.
only, it's 11pm now so i'll do it in blocks. how about - 5 or 10 today, rest later?
coldplay - amsterdam
my star is fading - that and just the whole self-reflective ... wisdom you get at the end of something thing. not bitterness, but slightly melancholy, slightly hopeful. yeah. i'm dead on the surface, but i'm screaming underneath.
the beatles - you really got a hold on me
i don't like you - but i love you - once again that kind of hopeless but self-reflective understanding. i think these first 2 songs are marybeth songs. that conflict where you are exhausted and give up the fight but you can't shut your brain up with the what-ifs. um
james - laid
moved out of the house, so you moved next door
i locked you out, you cut a hole in the wall
i find you sleeping next to me, i thought i was alone
you're driving me crazy, when are you coming home? - this song is kind of hysterical, i think. hee! that marybeth conflict where you know you SHOULD be fighting against her because alien! but then, is what she offering so bad? etc. that conflict. yeah.
REM - it's the end of the world as we know it (and i feel fine)
hee.
portishead - wandering star
wandering star, for who it is reserved, the blackness, the darkness, forever
marybeth again (wtf?) the wandering star, and for everyone else, i guess... that kind of almost trendy isolation.
ok bed now. erk.
