My phone tells me that I climbed 51 flights of stairs today.

But on the plus side, everything I don't plan on tossing from Old Place is now in New Place, and I drove a large van in freaking Brooklyn and didn't damage anything (a true first for me driving rented vehicles in a city!).

My nephew is worth his weight in gold, and I am so glad we get to reconnect like we are.

A good day.

Hello! I'm locked out of my Yahoo email account and probably won't be back on it until tomorrow. Sorry for being slow to replying to any email!

(I left my ipad at work but have my work laptop with me at home so was using that. But I had to log in to my Yahoo account, which I never have to do on my ipad and many tries later I was locked out. Will go in to work tomorrow morning to retrieve my ipad. I was planning on working on performance appraisals this weekend at home but maybe will just stay at work for a few hours instead.)

So at work here we do something called Reflections at the start of meetings. My understanding is that it used to be more weighted toward explicitly Christian prayer. Fortunately it's not that slanted though occasionally someone will start praying to almighty father, at which point I stop listening.

So anyway! I've been waiting all the time I've been working here (about 4 years now) to use this bit from Council of Elrond: "I have not called you to me, strangers from distant lands ..." But now I have the opportunity. Am leading a project to launch a new company intranet site and have a kick-off meeting next week. Cyril says, sweet!

Happy Froday. Cannot wait for the weekend to start :-) Am eating a chili dog with leftover chili from yesterday. Yum.

Dang! Color me pleased as punch. I have the most recommended comment on the NY Times article reporting President Bush's speech today where he raked Trump over the coals. I commented:

Wow. Hell has frozen over. I agree with W.

Over 500 people agree with me so far.

Strange days. I believe this is the first time I've ever referred to him as "President Bush" and not asshole or Shrub or W. I guess he seemed presidential to me though maybe it's just the comparison with the current asshole in chief.

Chili potluck today. I ate two bowls and have needed a nap ever since. I made the mango salsa and it was enjoyed :-)

Raining so hard this morning when I left that Harry would not only not go outside, he wouldn't even go near the door lol.

And one link to a NY Times article entitled Dear Men: It's you too.. Brilliant, logical, common sensical, it aligns with my own experiences and thoughts. The author is being vilified in the comments of course.

And now a word from Lord Elrond on the occasion of [personal profile] elwendell's birthday.

Love you! I hope you have a good day!
I'm here! I'm intact! I'm in my new place! I'm about 90% moved in, but, lololol, the things that are still at the old place are, for some reason, things like all my regular clothes and my blankets and sheets. Betta Barnes will probably come with me tomorrow, and a friend with access to a creepy van (for setting up races) maaaaaay be able to help me collect everything that's left (mostly kitchen and random stuff). Five amazing Russian men completely disassembled my apartment in 90 minutes yesterday, four flights of stairs and all, and the whole move was done in just over three hours. As I was standing on the sidewalk with my bike, talking to the guys about how to get to the new place, who but Terrible Neighbor comes sauntering by, with her two kids right there. "Bye, bitch," she says, like she's ~got me (or something???). I thought up all this clever shit I could have said later, but... no more. It's almost over.

So now I'm picking out paint colors and trying to find where I packed things like my remote controls. I am determined to have at least one small corner plastered with flamingo wallpaper. An awesome Puerto Rican guy from the Bronx set up my internet tonight; we traded pet photos and stories, and he told me all about his brother, a retired Marine, who lives on the island with a service pig named Cleopatra. (He also told me that he thought I was an autoresponse robot when I picked up his call, because my voice was so "creamy," which is a freaking delightful compliment.)

I kind of don't have much more to say at the moment. Therapy was good today. Things are just... looking up, and that's great. ♥

OK, I know I shouldn't care and I don't much. BUT. So that asshole Woody Allen (he who made the funnest movie scene I've ever seen in my life dammit) got reported in the NY Times today for calling for "no witch hunts" of men pursuant to the Harvey Weinstein pile-on (deserved by the way).

This seems to me the perfect article on which to open up comments. NO COMMENTS ALLOWED. WHY NOT?

I had a lot of comments to make. Some of them might even have been approved. Have emailed the Public Editor.

So I settled instead for leaving a comment on the article about President Asshole and Senator Asshole (McConnell variety) making nice together today. Have suggested the expression on Senator Asshole's face was because he just ejaculated in his pants.

Not thinking this comment is going to get approved but what the hell lol.

It's a good thing I've never aspired to be a nice woman :-)

Happy Monday!
