MOG YES. For all the skeazy creep that Dean can be/act like (The diner in Scarecrow anyone?) he is defintely more at home with people than Sam is.
Hookman was probably only the second or third party Sam's ever been to in his life, and I bet he doesn't mind the lack of parties. Me and anteka were talking about that while putting together The Laundry List actually, how judging from Sam's behaviour in the Pilot he seemed very much to be the kind of kid guy who liked a book and crappy TV over parties.
I dare say he was the kind who went out of his way to not get invited, the one who always had "plans" whenever anyone hinted at "getting a couple fo friends together for beer" or anything like that.
For all of Sam's want for "normal" he's not a big people person, he just wants to be a Geeky Nerd in peace.
