Mary has a much better and to-the-point "why Cloverfield was awesome" (sans spoilers) here. (It also explains the sudden weird posts last night *cough*)

I will addendumise Mary's post, though, with the statement that: I don't play computer/video games myself, and definitely didn't feel like I was while watching the film. I say that not to deliberately contradict Miz, but so that people like myself (not interested in gaming) aren't put off. This is far from the stylings of "Doom"; closer to Blair Witch Project only done 10,000,000 times better.

Awesome, awesome movie. And I can't stand watching horror films. And I was terrified. And it was awesome.

Yep.

i saw it today and have to admit, it was pretty effin' scary, especially, sice i used to have this recurring dream that i was crossing the Brooklyn Bridge and that exact thing happened...only of course, in my dream i never saw the "monster"....*shudder*

I read that as "sodomise Mary's post."
