Meanwhile, in the geek stakes
I still have no name for the MacBook.
I discovered how to change the mouse and keyboard prefs so that I can tap-click with the track pad, get a secondary menu (two-finger tap) despite singular mouse button and enable the function keys.
Things I'm having difficulty adjusting to: no page up/down or home/end keys. Wah.
Also: are buttons not in the tab order or what? I am used to using the keyboard on my Windows laptop for most of everything, but on the MacBook it seems I'm unable to tab between anything on a webpage that isn't a text field. What's going on there?

Command tab is fine between apps, but tabbing within a form on a webpage is what I miss - for example, once I've finished typing this comment ordinarily I would just hit tab, which selects the "post comment" button, then hit enter. But on the MB, pressing tab now takes me to the search box text field at the top of the page.

Some other handy shortcuts (http://lifehacker.com/5083249/a-few-handy-hidden-os-x-shortcuts), including forward-delete, end of line, etc.

also, command+` switches between windows within one application! (command is the same as the apple key.)
