Sticky post of Statusness
Here's the deal: I've been at ljuser="angstslashhope" for about 7 years now, but knowing that I'm irrevocably part of this gorgeous, sprawling community of fans and friends for the long haul, I've decided to migrate myself over to Dreamwidth. Mainly because of the way its shiny set of guiding principles, the way they contrast the recent very disappointing behaviour & policies of LJ/SUP, and a desire to support the way Dw are doing things on the ground.
Presently (typing this on April 19, 2009) I'm setting things up over here and playing around with the beta state of the service.
Right now:
- lj user="angstslashhope" is where I'm primarily posting, every few days or so importing entries and comments to be archived here at
hope.
- If friends are crossposting, then their Dw account is where I'm commenting.
- I'm reading both angstslashhope.livejournal.com/friends and hope.dreamwidth.org/read.
Future plans:
- Undecided as to whether I'll be cross-posting between LJ & Dw, but leaning against it, as I wish to ultimately archive everything here at Dreamwidth, and don't want to have to deal with duplicate entries when I import. May just end up directing comments here. Will let you know beforehand, at any rate.
- I'll be closing down my fic-only LJ, hopeful_fiction - though not deleting, as I don't wish to break anyone's bookmarks. Will be merging the entries/comments into
hope, and directing future comments over here also.
- Will probably set up RSS feed of hope.oscillating.net on Dw & LJ for people who wish to subscribe to fic updates only.
Friending/circle policy:
Not much different from the one I had on LJ. Feel free to subscribe to my updates here, and of course unsubscribe at any time. I will not grant you access or subscribe to you automatically.
ETA: April 22 - As people sign up for accounts I'm removing their OpenID from my Circle. I am granting access to friends with OpenID so they can read my locked entries, but not subscribing to them as there's nothing to see on my reading page from their OpenID accounts.
