Started off as being vaguely amusing, starting to get desperately creepy and then just got a bit tiresomely repetitive. I just like my satire to be clever and have a bit of bite. I find ACJ to be so far removed from any conception of Jack it doesn't work for me and the Torchwood House promotion of it including the mods telling everyone who expressed a dislike that they evidently weren't smart enough to get it did not endear it to me.
Hmm. I can totally get why the ongoing irritating associations would make it even more unappealing.
From what I've seen of the fandom, there seems to be some a pretty major fork in interpretation of Jack's characterisation. I think I'm of the fork that finds ACJ does have a bit of bite on occasion in the way that it addresses some issues I personally perceive in the show with a bit of clever humour.
I think we're pretty much demonstrating the 'each to their own' concept *g*
