My sister, who turned 21 a handful of months ago, was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. Luckily it's in an early enough stage that she doesn't need chemo, just surgery to remove the cancerous cells. They caught it this early because my sister gets regular pap smears.
I am making this post public in order to say to as many people as possible: GET REGULAR PAP SMEARS, PEOPLE.
Don't put it off because you think you're too young to get cancer/it's unpleasant/what are the chances? My sister is 21. She's had the cervical cancer jabs. And yet.
No excuses, please. It is worth it.
