I like this idea that Haven was full of old Independents. Never thought of that, but what a lovely idea. It might help explain why Mal went so totally batshit after the Alliance killed everyone - it wasn't just the killing of ordinary people, but also grinding the Independents down into the dirt a little more.

Nice piece! I like the claustrophobic feeling.

The novelisation goes into a lot more depth about what Haven actually is and who lives there. I just stole from that ;)
