Hee, I love Dean being smarmy here and then finally getting it.
And this part "Dean turns his head to watch a girl shimmer past him, and the profile of his mouth, curled a little open in an interested smirk, eyebrows lifted, makes John’s heart surge up to pound in his throat. So damn familiar. God. " HA, John was a ladies man, I knew it. Dean had to get it from somewhere!
It's fun seeing Dean being a different version of himself, the Dean he could have been in another life. He's still essentially Dean, but for a little while, he's free.
Free, but not right. There's something missing from him, something richer and more wonderful, that only his family, his life as a hunter, can give back to him.
Very nice.
And also, guh. Because he recognizes John, but the associations that remain, when all else has been taken away, are.. a little less, or a little more, than filial.
I really like this. You never blithely disregard character, just to fufill a desire to play with scenario. Well done.
Ok, the first one left me wanting more of it... now this leaves me wanting more of it... You're...just mean. Cruel. Do you get sadistic pleasure from torturing me? You do, don't you? I KNEW IT!
On a serious note... Funny. Dean thinking John was his "daddy" *snickers* *Gigglefits*

Well, what's the fun with playing with ciphers? I love crack scenarios mainly because they're an opportunity to see how far you can push the characters :D
I'm glad you liked it, yay!
When I visited the states i flew in and out of Vegas a few times, never had a proper visit. It's on the list for next time, though :)
Well, you know. Some people have good intentions of keeping them in character, that just.. doesn't really work out the way they plan. Not that I would know. Anything about that.
Vegas seems to be kind of a love it or hate it kind of place.
I just wouldn't know what to do with anyone who told me they were indifferent to it.
Dude, i've read your stories, and you certainly WOULDN'T know. Seriously, I have been in enough fandoms with the same people now to read the same bland stories over and over again with the names changed. It's a different thing entirely.
To be honest, I was a bit daunted by Vegas. I'd have visited if I'd had someone to visit there :)
Oh. Why must you do this to me? Dean who's unknown even to himself but willing to let John lead him anywhere. And then realizing how badly he's misjudged the relationship: Dean’s not smiling at all now, and he breaks their gaze first, looking down and away. He’s still leaning against the trunk, and his hands rest on either sides of his hips, shoulders slumping down. “How…” he says softly, all easy delight gone from his tone, now. “Can you fix me?” Killer.

I'm sorry, I have to say it;
Lights will guide you home, And ignite your bones, And I will try to fix you.
