I wish I could be more coherent about this one and why I love it so much. It's a great selection of canon side-stories, for one, and the "kink" is a beauty (although it's really only a kink in the second vignette). As always, you do a great line in building erotic tension and making every gesture, every action count. But I think what absolutely slays me is a kind of pathos under it all that embraces the pair of them -- Ianto penitent in the first, the walking wounded administering the first aid in the second, and moving from recovery positioning to body-and-soul warming in the third. I love how aware Jack is of what's going on and how he can't help responding, even when he's no more capable of communicating with words than Ianto is.

Twelve days of cliché? Not hardly. You'd never know that h/c was already a well-worn fandom trope.

Wow, thank you for the awesome feedback! It's like you pulled out all the extended author's notes I didn't write down out of my head, which makes me very happy. I really enjoyed writing this, for all the reasons above. I think the funnest thing about this cliche challenge is not so much writing the same old stuff sarcastically, but writing about the cliches themselves, deconstructing and reassembling them in different ways. And, I think, character is foregrounded when I try and do this, so it's almost like cliche is my fandom and this is a crossover! Character is too often sidelined by extreme cliche fic, it's much more fun to make the characters form those old scenarios on their own terms.
