ARGH. we're trying to install the network card in [livejournal.com profile] ffenest's computer, BUT WE CAN'T GET THE CASE OFF.

it's an IBM, black and sleek and had a black plastic handle thing on the top before we broke it off, and there are no. screws. anywhere on the outside of it, and thus no way for us to unscrew it and get it off. it looks like it's meant to slide off the front, the the front of it has all this plastic facing that's preventing the proposed slide, and we're not sure how to get that off either.

i can't seem to find any support online for it, does anyone know how the feck we're meant to do it?

try looking for little clips to push in. or some kind of sleek lock?
usually the case slides backwards towards the plugs.
*shrugs* ive had the same problem on friends computers, makes me feel like a bit of a goob, considering im studying IT. :P

Um. See if there are any screws or clips *underneath*? Not on the sides?

O.o

...well, I'm spent. That was the one crap great idea my brain could dreg up for the night. Short of getting a thin-bladed knife and levering the case off, that is.

i have a computer without screws like that and it slides to the back. you need to pull on the sides to make it wider then slide it to the back. it's not an IBM though so it might be different.
