once upon a five times
(or: five things that never happened to elijah wood)
(supposedly) along the same lines as beauty sleep. rated PG, some slash, some het.

i've been struggling to write something with this challenge for a while because, liek, rps. there is no canon. so, in my understanding of it, absolutely everything we write is already something that "never happened to" that character. i've been toying with ideas of writing "5 things that never happened to ___" and debunking main fanon - like, an AU of convergence. an AU of establishment. but then i was too lazy so i resulted to my usual craptasm. fairy tales, yay. i would say something about how meta these stories are but i'm too tired to wank right now. see if you can recognise them.

Lotrips is so dastardly confounding. That is why we take it to our bosomses. Anyhow, I enjoyed your little sniplets and also see your point: five things have been happening to lotrips characters from the very beginning.

What was the beginning of lotrips anyhow? I came in too late and don't know who laid the first egg.

i think the general consensus is that wax started it with in white (which i can't find a link for right now but i'm sure you've read it).

i disagree that there is no canon (but there is no cohesive canon, certainly, and this anyway is a matter for another time) but i understand totally your problem with 'never happened to..'

i think it might be the reason why so many of these when they get written turn to the extreme AU, the film AU for example as we've seen the trend (short but a trend nonetheless, a trail anyway) develop this week-- two weeks?

i want to write some too, have several ideas, but heh, busy working on other things!

and your idea of AUs of Conv. or Est. (!!!) is making me squirm in curiosity, and yearning of writing 'five things that never happened to Est.Lij' something fierce. do eeeet also! *wantses*

i think what i mean by 'there's no canon' is that you can't... explore this challenge in the same way you could in, say, a fiction fandom where you can make a clear-cut diversion from the clear-cut canon. you know?

i mean, the canon is that a bunch of guys made a movie, and they were in certain locations on certain dates, but beyond that we pretty much know nothing in comparison to the internal insight and details we get with our fictional characters.

i've been a bit disappointed with most of the film ones of this challenge that have popped up - a lot of them seem to be just replacing the names, which can be delightful if you recognise the text they're plundering, and titilating to see your character in that world, but there's nothing *challenging* about it.

maybe i'll think about the fanon one more. my main thing was that i couldn't think of 5 fanon texts that everyone would recognise! ( i had est., convergence, sabotage... i think that was it.)
