I know this is a little late to be adding this, but I'm incredibly slow and a major procrastinator.

I read your previous entry, about the fandom thesis and the photos that, as I understand, were not meant for public viewing. I just wanted to say that I think you wrote a highly stimulating, thought provoking piece, and the discussion it generated was both enlightening and, I believe, important. It is something that as slash fans, we need to take into account; that technically, what we do is unethical. But, simultaneously, it's not hurting someone, though the person in question may feel differently. It really lends a weight to every piece of gossip or fic or anything that we post, and I think that's something that we all need to remember and weigh carefully, every time.

Anywho, thank you very much. I can't wait to see more of your work.

thank*you*. it's always fascinating when these kind of conflicts occur (though it sucks when they occur at the expense of my friends!) and even more so when people are able to articulate their different viewpoints via discussion. thanks for joining in :)

also, thanks for the link to that lj: it was new to me. what a great idea. will you post your essay on your own journal too? i am assuming you have one slated for the future: what pairing will you be writing about?

the ship_manifesto essay is for casey/zeke, but i have an essay to write for class before then - the feminism/pornography/slash one (which i've been frantically reading for over the past few days). They'll both probably be posted here, as i usually do :D

actually, i was thinking of making a website on oscillating.net for fans-on-fandom meta pieces. even if it was just links or something. do you think that's worthwhile?

funny you should mention the fans on fandom meta pieces: i have several that i'm polishing up and could maybe suggest links to stuff I've read before; but you're probably way more up on that stuff than I. But I know I would read it... i know several other fen who would too. Yes, I think it's very worthwhile.

would you be interested in helping out running/maintaining a site like that? from what i've gathered, you're probably more enthusiastic than me when it comes to chasing down these things ;)
