liek.

this year is like movie heaven for me -- my two favourite directors and another i love very much are releasing movies.

The New World - Terrence Malick
produced by mark ordesky. production design by jack fisk (ttrl, mulholland drive). director of photography emmanuel lubezki (sleepy hollow, y tu mama). AND MANY MORE. and, holy fuck, the soundtrack. i just spent half an hour working out how to rip the track from the trailer. OH MY FUCKING GOD I'M EXCITED. and i had no idea this was coming until i was in a theatre in chicago and the worlds "FROM TERRENCE MALICK" came up on the screen and i orgasmed then and there. HOLY CRAP.

Sin City - Robert Rodriguez
i worship terrence malick. i want to hang out with robert rodriguez. also with elijah wood and josh hartnett. in the movie, i mean. OMG EXCITEMENT. the only problem is that i'm not a frank miller fan, but i have faith in mr robert. plus, it *looks* awesome. eee. me wanty. NOW.

King Kong - Peter Jackson
PJ with jack black? and andypants as kong? !!! i can't wait to see PJ make the crazy fun films he loves to make, only ON A HUGE BUDGET. it's going to be freaking awesome, especially on the big screen. *PANTS TOO TIGHT*

*flails about a bit*

PS. this might be a stab in the dark, but it's worth asking - does anyone know where i can get a hold of a thin red line script? *googles to death*

does anyone know where i can get a hold of a thin red line script?

i have the novel, but i've never read it. because it's not the same, y'know?

i am looking forward to all three of these, esp the last two. and here in the states it looks like we will also get hooligans, ev is illuminated and clear as day THIS YEAR. helps assuage the end of lotr for me just a bit... hooligans is not a sure thing but since they're showing it at a big festival, maybe maybe! hoping for sean a's movie, too. *jumps up and down* *wishes she could justify going to austin*

Some information on obtaining a copy of the script here (http://www.eskimo.com/%7Etoates/malick/trl/index.html) (scroll down a bit under 'News'). I haven't found any sites with transcripts, though. I love the score of that film. Can't wait for The New World.

You also may want send an inquiry to scripts@hollywoodbookandposter.com; they have a pretty good selection usually.

Random useless trivia for the day: Miranda Otto has a brief role in ATRL as the wife of Ben Chaplain's character.
