(no subject)

so i realised this evening as i was aimlessly wandering around the city that today was TIGHT ARSE TUESDAY so i ran the circuit of the three within-a-block theatres in the cbd and settled on closer (mainly because it was starting in 5 minutes).

what i great movie! or should i say, great script. a lot of the time for me the script is just a pretext for the cinema being created around it and i'll come out of it loving the cinematography, the editing, the direction, the score. this script was so compelling. within a few minutes of the movie, i was completely into it. i completely forgot i was watching a movie.

so, worth seeing, yep. and, as the ticket cost me less than both my lunch and my dinner did (and i don't mean combined), i want to make a resolution to go see a movie in the theatre every tuesday. i hope. in summer, at least, when it doesn't even get dark until late. i rediscovered how much i love seeing movies on my own, too, so yep.

so. this brings my new-movies-for-the-year tally to 13. (and by 'new movies' i mean, movies i haven't seen before. not new as in, new to the theatres.)i think that's going well. my brain's too mushy to do the math on it right now, but i think i'll easily get to 100 in the year.

anyway. i think i'll go watch another right now. no work tomorrow. YAYE.

oh, sure, NOW you see it! We should have done two movies when you were here, instead of just Blade - because I wasn't able to get to Closer!

Wasn't Closer fabulous? OMG, I loved it too. Totally drew me in, and I adored it.

Though Julia Roberts was a bit of a weak spot for me. It was very hard to pick up any tension from her in favour of Jude Law, and in general I don't think she carried as much as the others did. Particularly Clive and Natalie. OMG, Clive and Natalie. *eyes glaze*
