johnny johnny johnny.

just watched slow burn, which claire managed to pick up ex-rental. was doing okay, UNTIL JOHNNY GOT KILLED! the poor little fluff! his hair was too cute to get handcuffed to a wall and have his shoe beaten off then get shot and stabbed to death die. sorry, spoiler. DONNIE! the poor kid. he had nice trousers.

also watched dead man tonight, OH DEAR GOD MAKE IT STOP. it was so terrible it made me want to stab myself in the head with a knitting needle. johnny was pritty though. pritty pritty pritty.

the night before we watched fear and loathing in las vegas, which i had seen before, but not with johnny-goggles on. omg so good. subsequently lisa & my grocery shopping expedition the next day involved lisa walking funny and muttering about bats while i started every sentence with "as your attorney i advise you to..." (ie. get some tomatoes).

we've watched cry-baby about 10 times in a fortnight. it just never, ever gets old.

still very much in awe of arizona dream, especially after seeing dead man. *shudder*

I WANT THE LIBERTINE LIKE, RIGHT NOW.

sighsigh.

the second season of jump street still hasn't arrived from amazon yet. i'm crossing my fingers for monday. then again, i was crossing them for every freaking day last week. this is after we paid for faster shipping and all.

anyway, off to watch double indemnity now. royal tenenbaums is on tv. i love that movie, but hate watching movies on tv. *motors*

I saw Dead Man in the cinema earlier this year - it was listed as Dead Man Walking, so I was rather surprised. But so very, very pritty, as you say. His face is divine in black and white, when being almost killed by Iggy Pop and then floating out to sea in a boat. Weirdo. Pretty, pretty, weirdo.

My s2 hasn't arrived yet either. It left Canada at the beginning of last week, so maybe it will be waiting at work on Monday. And hopefully I'll have managed to avoid import duty. But I said I'd watch it with [livejournal.com profile] jekesta, and I don't know if I can wait until I see her again.

Sorry, I seem to be rambling in your journal. Blame Johnny.

Dead Man is so horrible! It is one of the worst movies I've ever seen! I would seriously rather watch Plan 9 From Outer Space a hundred times before watching Dead Man again. Plan 9 is bad but at least it's funny bad, Dead Man is just pretentious crap.

Man I wish I could hang out with you guys, that is too funny! And I <3 F&L! R.I.P Hunter S. Thompson. :(

And I can't wait for the Libertine either. I heard Miramax might release it.

Dead Man is kinda hard to watch. But there's pretty Johnny, and the added factor of hilariousness from Iggy Pop in a dress. o_O

I really like Jarmusch's other films, though. Night On Earth is really wonderful. Coffee and Cigarettes is a little patchy, but quite entertaining. Down By Law is a little slow, but entertaining as hell because of Tom Waits. Ghost Dog is just kind of an odd one out. Hmm.

Oh yeah, C+C is like "Look at all the famous people I know!" but there are some really great skits. Ghost Dog's really slick for Jarmusch, and is paced a little differently. It's just a different kinda story, too.. more modern + urban, I guess?

Seriously, though, you gotta see Night on Earth. It's probably my favourite out of all his work.

Sorry, I left another note...

...on the end of your story "Refrain", but I realized I should have put it here in case you don't see it. (So if you read this, don't bother with the other!)

I'm starting a 21 Jump Street slash archive and I love your stories and would really really really like to host them on my site!
