(no subject)

this is from [livejournal.com profile] marythefan, passing it onto the Americans on my flist because it's freaking important, okay?
California Gov. Schwarzenegger's office is accepting calls from anywhere regarding the state's marriage equality bill. It passed both houses of their legislature but needs the governor's approval, and his office has said he's planning a veto. It's all automated, so you don't have to talk to an actual, live person, if that sort of thing usually leaves you stammering.

Follow these directions:
1. Call the Governor: 916-445-2841
2. Push: 2 (for "voice your opinion on legislation")
3. Push: 1 (for "gender-neutral marriage bill - Senate Bill 849")
4. Push: 1 (to support the bill)

... it takes two minutes, tops.

It took a few minutes, but I got through. The actual button pushing only takes about 30 seconds. Thanks for the heads-up! Hilarious, somehow, that it came from Australia, and I live here in California!
