ye gods. i can't believe i just got home from serenity/joss (otp, omg). dear christ, i am so tired. glad i drived drove, because a taxi fare would have been painful from that side of the city to this.

movie was awesome, as usual. oh, how i love it. joss was also incredibly awesome, smart, funny, brilliant, generous. unfortunately they hadn't scheduled the event very well - movie was meant to start at 8.30, but instead started after 9. then the Q&A session literally went for about 80 minutes, finishing (when joss called an end to it himself) at about 12.20am. we were sitting in the second-to-last row of the (very large) theatre, and the autographing was going row by row, so by the time we got to joss it was about 1.50am. the poor guy was obviously absolutely exhausted, still very smiley and friendly and polite but extremely wan in demeanor and voice. i wish i hadn't been so tired/sick, because i like to like, say things to people who are signing things for me, make an effort to make it worth my own while, but as it was, i was pretty damn out of it, so when my card got slid in front of him it still hadn't really clicked and there was joss, looking up right at me and smiling and i was like "buh? oh, right!"

i hope he is sleeping like a baby right now, he so deserves it.

*happy sigh* oh joss, you sho fablious.

You're far, far luckier than those of us stuck at home with only Rove to get our Joss fix. :) Glad to hear it was rad! I wish to hear more so I might live vicariously.

(burn the lamb, boil the peas, you can't take this pie from me!)

Rove was sorta.. cringeworthy, as usual. Joss was charming and funny and all brow wrinkly which is the cutest thing ever. Rove talked a lot about things that weren't Serenity. In fact, it probably only really made up about 1/8 of the whole interview - then they showed the short clip with "Oh god, oh god, were all going to die?"

The rest was Buffy, talking about Joss as a script doctor, and how he worked in a video store. Yep, way to be on track there, Rove buddy. The Serenity Oz forum has a thread about it, and someone's uploaded an mp3 of the interview if you're interested.

It was mentioned as almost an afterthought, it was crazy. Rove audio is here (http://s9.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3JYRM25WCZFO10LJ47VZBTT3TO), if you like. It is much better to watch Joss' wee face during it of course ;) Blaaah. I dunno - it wasn't as bad as I expected, but still disappointing. Can't expect much from the general media. Hopefully the Movie Show and whatnot will focus more on the movie - a bit of the print media has, but Buffy's always brought up, as is Wonder Woman.

(Melbourne Q+A audio is here (http://serenitymovie.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=727), if you're interested!)

I guess that's all that things like Rove and Sunrise etc are for, just the pure marketing side of it.

THANKYOU for the link to that comm! I had tried to find a FF/Serenity fandom newsletter, to no avail. I oughta go through Whedonesque and get some Aus links together, too.

I don't think i'm on the ball quick enough - we'll see, though :) And now i'm reminded, I still gotta post about my Serenity prescreening photos.

The icon is fabbo. I nicked it from someone on Serenity OZ, who nicked it in turn from some other forum :)

I have a great deal of respect for people who autograph for hours and hours and yet still manage to be polite. I'd be at grunting stage.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA You know what? Estel and I were just trying to figure out how LJ-tags work, and Estel said "What about hope? She uses tags a lot."

So we clicked on the joss and joss is boss and joss! tags, and read this entry and then...

Then...

Then we read your current music. Spoken words.

And then we both burst into song.

And fell out of our chairs, laughing.

YOU = BRILLIANT.

We just read Stimpson's "Burn the lamb, boil the peas..." and fell out of our chairs some more.
