I bought the serenity novelisation and i have to say, it is truly a thing of great, great beauty.

I am going to now make a point of sharing the beauty of it, by posting exerpts here. I'll warn you if they're spoilery, but a lot of the first third of the book is just re-hashing the tv series. Here's today's selection:

Dr. Simon Tam pounced on the letter from his sister like a hungry man attacking a meal.

At least, Simon assumed it was the same. Having grown up in one of the wealthier families in the Alliance, and having even at his young age carved out at impressive career as a physician, he had never known hunger. He knew the concept only from textbooks he'd read.

Also a thing of great beauty is Jump Street season 3. I want to rip Booker's face off. Doug has turned into the staypuft man. Johnny Depp refused to wash.

Also I am wary of the Serenity novelisation. Um.

(I got my hands on a copy of Finding Serenity though, and that's pretty choice!)

booker is a big fat slut whose purpose it is to, as mary says "be totally outrageous!" and essentially rile everyone else. also, walk around in his underwear. also, richard grieco has something wrong with his face. i will screencap staypuft cyndi!doug for you.

the novelisation is truly glorious.

mary keeps telling me she'll lend me her copy of finding serenity, but she still hasn't.

stephen_dedman, is a writerly friend of the person who did the novelisation. Said friend wrote the novelisation from the script ages ago, and was contractually unable to tell anyone anything about the script.

I will pass on your happiness with the novelisation.

Heh. I got the novelization as well and have read through most of it. Strange thing is, I can't bring myself to read the end! I SO want to see the movie again, but I don't want to remind myself too much of the details beforehand, isn't that silly?

If anyone Important is reading this, I am enjoying the novelisation very much!

i am very happy with it. it makes me very happy. movie novelisation must be a very tricky thing, not made any easier by the fact that the fans reading it probably have a pretty bloody fantastic understanding of the characters themselves, and there is not doubt not as much room to move as there is in fanfiction.

novelisations are also good for seeing what was in the script before final movie edits :D

but yes, like i said - I am getting much enjoyment from this book. i think it has been many, many years since i read a movie novelisation, too.

i've seen the movie 3 times now... that's enough for me to disentangle a little in order to enjoy the novelisation, i think. :)

OMIGOD SEASON THREE BOOKER YAY AND STUFF!

I am so excited! I love Season Three, even though they fucked up the episodes by changing the flippin music. Damn the man.

I made a retarded songvid about Hanson/Penhall woe woe woe but I cannot get it to use the song. That makes it a songvidminusthevid. Whoops. Guess it is just a vid then. It sucked anyways.
