After being trapped in a cherry-picker cage a kilometre underground since a collapse two weeks ago, two miners were freed & brought to the surface about an hour and a half ago. They walked out. It was only discovered they were still alive a week ago.
After hearing that on my 6am radio alarm, there’s no way I’m getting back to sleep.

I dunno, as much as I hate being manipulated by the media, I'm a sucker for the survival stories. I managed to avoid most of the gratuitous media glut for this one, but it still gave me a happy to think of them back in the open air again after 2 weeks underground in a tiny cage.
yar, I ought to feel so elated for surviving third world orphans too, but yeah. who knows?
