Super-canon wishlist.
Hokay. So here's a wishlist of things I'd love to have for Super-canon, my Supernatural canon resource site.
To reiterate: I don't want this site to be exclusively my stuff, I just want it to be as extensive and exhaustive as possible! Thus my tendency so far to shamelessly beg clever, clever people to let me put their meta on 'my' site.
So you have meta that would fit the canon bill? think it'd fit on my site? tell me! I would LOVE to have you :D
A note on canon vs. meta: it's a tricky line to tread. Where to draw the distinction between speculation and close analysis? Between what the text says and how it's constructed? Thus far I've tried to keep the site canon instead of meta, but that's mainly due to my own time constraints. I've been known to be convinced.
So, that said, here's my wishlist of what I'd love to add to the site but don't have my hot little hands on as yet. Suggestions of further items to add to this list will be welcomed with open arms. Production of material needed to fulfil the wishlist will get you my firstborn.
Anything else you would find useful? Comment.
Anything you can help with? Comment.
Overall, this site is for you. Sure, I obsess about research and categorisation (and hoarding, always hoarding) of information, but the main purpose of it is as a resource for other authors and hell, any fan who likes to dig out the nitty-gritty. So you need to tell me if there's something missing there that you would (will!) find useful. OK?
Let it also be known that I don't do things by halves - when I say I want pop culture references, I want a transcript of the reference itself, its location (which episode, who says it), and what it's referring to. Same rules of detail and accuracy goes for pretty much all the info I seek. *beams*
General comments, corrections and suggestions are, as always, extremely welcome. I'll try to respond to comments as soon as I can, but as this is a constantly on-going project, sometimes I have to set it aside and take it up when other responsibilities aren't so pressing ;)

- Weapons: what kind of gun does Dean carry? What's that curved knife Sam has, and what's its cultural history? Just what exactly are all those pieces in John's hydraulic weapon case, and in the trunk of the Impala, for that matter?
- Shots and decoding of the Journal in the show: I've done the journal on the website, but I know there are a whole lot more shots of it during the show where we get glimpses of its contents. I want screencaps and I want transcription!
- Detailed timeline: I know I saw this kind of thing kicking around a couple of weeks ago, but alas I have lost it again. A detailed timeline of their year on the road. The one I'm remembering has dates and estimated travel times and a map with potential routes... *drools*
- Pop culture references: Hey Sam, who d'you think's the hotter TV sidekick? - The in-text references to other popular culture texts. The Simpsons, The Shining, The Matrix, LA Confidential, Ghost Whisperer, Chad Michael Murray... taken on by
lea_ndra. - Horror genre intertextuality: In terms of the texts they rip off in the construction of the show. So, the plot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre or the cinematography of The Ring.
- Symbol decoding: along these lines. Anything else you can think of can be on that page?
- Disparities: I would like to set up a page that lists disparities in canon. Eg. Dean's height on his driver's license, the different reports of how long he was in college, etc. I want detailed, succint outlines of each.
- Character specs: Am always looking to flesh out the listings for both the primary and secondary characters on this page.

According to
Detailed timeline:
Here's a map (http://muccamukk.livejournal.com/215181.html?style=mine) of where they've been and here's a timeline. (http://muccamukk.livejournal.com/215181.html?style=mine) Here (http://stormwolf.livejournal.com/70989.html) is a fan-map up until Shadows.
Character specs:
Caleb seems likely to be an arms dealer of some kind. Dean mentions John getting his ammo from Caleb and we get a nice glimpse of a good-sized arsenal behind him when we see him in Salvation.
More worth noting? Sammich's phone is a Blackberry cause he's a big Geek.
Also some of the names on it are as follows:
Rebecca Warren [Mobile number, from 0106 - Skin]
Jerry (Pager) [Pager, from 0104 - Phantom Traveler]
John Marcynuck [Home, No Known Ep]
Dean [Mobile, Duh]
Marry Ann Liu [Home, No Known Ep] (http://supernatural.tv/gallery2/scarecrow/wmplayer%202006-01-11%2020-01-39-87.jpg)
I don't know what type of phone Dean has but the names in it we see are as follows [None but "Dad" and "Sam" have ever been seen or mentioned in any episode aired as of typing]:
Bren [Mobile - Has a picture identifier]
Carmelita [Mobile - Has a picture identifier] (http://supernatural.tv/gallery2/scarecrow/wmplayer%202006-01-11%2019-53-34-24.jpg)
Dad [Mobile - Has no picture identifier]
Donny [Work1- Has no picture identifier]
Robin [Mobile - Has a picture identifier]
Sam [Mobile - Has a picture identifier] (http://supernatural.tv/gallery2/scarecrow/wmplayer%202006-01-11%2019-53-38-24.jpg)
It's a meta-leap but I'd say I wouldn't be surprised to see more than one of the names on Dean's phone pop up as hunters or hunting "friends" in future episodes. Especially with Dean's vehement lack of friends and the fact that all but one number in the phone is a mobile number.
Wish I could help more.

Useless information to follow!
Now, the people of "Supernatural" may name another source, because the Evil Girl with Her Hair Brushed Over Her Face is a BIG, BIG thing in Asian horror movies, but I think we can safely say that they got the look of Bloody Mary from "The Ring." Which is of course a movie about a cursed video tape that causes your death seven days after you watch it. The evil little girl in the movie, Samara, often wore her hair brushed over her face so you couldn't see her too well. SPOILER! In the scene near the end of the movie where we finally find out how she kills, her face is completely obscured by her hair for most of the scene. Also, the final scene of the video tape appears on her victim's tv screen - Samara crawls from the well she died in, walks up to the "camera," and emerges from the television screen into our world, just like Bloody Mary did from her mirror.
"The Ring" is a remake of a Japanese horror film called "Ringu" (which is the Japanese pronunciation of the English word ring). In it, the evil bitch from the well was Sadako.
The whole Girl with Her Hair Brushed Over Her Face phenom is based on Japanese myth about a woman whose name I cannot remember, but I can get it for you if you want. She was poisoned by her husband, which disfigured her face. She wore her hair brushed over the side of her face that was hideous to hide it. The legend went that if you saw her walking down the street, you weren't supposed to look at her, because if you saw her face, she would attack you, and disfigure you too. Because of this myth, many Japanese (and Korean!) horror films have girls and ghosts with long black hair brushed over their faces.
I can provide a few visual references if you really want to go that far with it.

Traditional bronze spear head, pre roman times- probably Greek, most especially NOT philistine or Phoenician... possibly Egyptian.
Hatchet, American Indian or colonial style (judging from the forward curving heft)
Silver tipped arrow
Brass knuckles over 8 point throwing star
Bayonet
Holy wood stake
Hmmm, double barrel shot gun - looks like a SKB 385
Another shotgun... Hard to say- pump action black- I'm going to say a Winchester x2, 3" just because
The other pump is probably a Remington - we'll call it an 11-87
Sawed off or shot barreled shot gun too... hmm... looks like a short barrel. Remington 870? Hard to place. You don't see very many tactical shotguns with wood stocks.
Mallets
Flares
Harpoon gun
Couple of knives
(that's all that he can really make out or make an intelligent guess about. he doesn't actually watch the show, i was just using him for research. :D )

Per the author's notes at the bottom.
Has anybody told you lately that you rock for keeping all this stuff in one place? Huh?
