I love that it's become Supernatural/Wincest fanon that because the Winchesters grew up poor, they give each other sexual favours as birthday & christmas presents.

Except Daddy, who gives them weapons.

And what is it that the boys give Daddy? usually guilt-inducing hand-made cards or drawings brought home from school "HAPY FATHERS DAY DAD I HOP U KIL MOMMYS MURDRER SOON LUV DEAN" with a drawing of Mommy with gold-sprayed macaroni hair glued to the card, John with a pipecleaner beard and shotgun. That will, of course, make Daddy feel terribly guilty and tearful.

John would totally keep all that stuff, in an old cigar box or envelope or something, and Dean would happen upon it in the car one day and be initially puzzled at the crushed macaroni shards, then equal parts mortified and heart-clenched when he realised what it was (and that Dad kept it).

It would be even better that he kept all of it but had no way to keep it forever preserved. Rainwater stains on pencil and pen drawing, crumpled edges of crayon-thick cards, that crushed macaroni.

Total heart-clench. Esp if it was during the Stanford years and Dean had to thumb through the timeworn treasure trove alone, skipping past Sammy's wide-lettered name and Sammy's drawings of Dean-and-Sammy holding hands under the perfect in the corner sunshine.

I did. Instead of cleaning the house and doing the laundry, I wrote a story. I sent it to my beta a couple of hours ago. I'll probably have it back sometime tomorrow afternoon. :-)
