Boosting Supernatural Ratings
There're a lot of Supernatural guerilla fan activities happening right now. Raising the profile of the show is good, but you know what's better? Registering interest through official channels. I'm not talking about sending letters to CW saying how much you love it. I'm talking about Ratings.
And 'ratings' can come in a number of forms. It's the registering of numbers through official channels. So, you can still indicate to the CW that you're watching the show, making them money, without having a Nielson black box on your TV. Here're a few ways how:
I reckon we need to focus on reflecting our own numbers accurately (or even exagerratedly! :D) as well as getting more people to tune in.
A lot of these options are only available to US folks, but generally, that's what's counted anyway.
Got anything to add to the list? Please drop me a comment! Especially if you're outside the US.
And feel free to pimp this post. I reckon if we can get people to do the Amazon.com download - $2 a week, dudes - that would make a considerable impact.

- Buy Supernatural DVDs and give them to your friends. Or have a few copies to lend out to people. Where the DVD is on the bestseller list is a very big deal. Firefly DVD sales were a big part of why Universal picked up Serenity.
ETA: Aussies, S1 currently on sale for under $30 at JBHiFi. - Amazon now have Season 2 for download, at $1.99 per episode. See above comment about sales being a big deal. All those folk who download an ep after seeing it on TV? Make a HUGE difference by forking out $2 for it. Think of those sales numbers! Also, it's a great way to get new people into watching it - buy an episode for someone who hasn't seen it! I'm sure there's a particular S2 ep you can think of that can be used for conversion.
ETA: Some folk have reservations about the Amazon 'Unbox' software. You can also download episodes from iTunes for the same price, but again, need to be a US customer. - TiVo Supernatural, even if you're watching it while it's airing. "Timeshifted" ratings are counted. TiVo the reruns, too.
- Watch streaming episodes at the CW site.
- If you're in Australia, register to download episodes at Channel 10.

A sad, sad commentary on their marketing, but true. :g:
I suppose I should also send someone a letter pointing out that more people might dl if it was available in more formats. Hmmm.
