hope | (no subject)

1. My username is angstslashhope because:

I am a giant dork. Seriously. When I first got into fandom it was LOTR and I was all about hobbitslash, H/C and angst. My penname was "Hope" on yahoo!groups (sn hopeful_fiction). When I got a fannish LJ, naturally "hope" was taken, so I went with a bunch of stuff I liked - angst and slash and that other component I liked so much I named myself after it: Hope. I also like the "angst/hope" side of it.

In hindsight, it's totally lame, but I'm so used to it now I don't even think about it anymore (aside from the occasional cringe).

2. My name is Like the rifle. because:

Winchester! Like the rifle. Is one of the things about Supernatural that tickles me a lot, those references in the very naming of the characters. I don't like to change my LJ name a lot. I've had this one since I got into SPN fandom, about 2+ years ago.

3. My journal is titled three cubic feet of bone and blood and meat because:

Rufus Wainwright lyrics. Because I think it's an awesome way to describe the human body and the essence of what a human is. Heh. Also, I love Rufus.

For a long time previously it was "parapraxes", which is the technical term for a Freudian slip.

4. My friends page is called living in a den of thieves because:

Regina Spektor lyrics, from "Us", the song for that awesome awesome fandom vid. Used to match the journal title, til I liked the Rufus line more.

For a long time previously it was "lethologica", which is the technical term for a word being on the tip of your tongue.

5. My default userpic is because:

I heart the Winchesters. Baby Winchesters especially. I really like the colours & composition of this one. For a long time I played icon chicken with

monkeycrackmary, where we'd make each other horrific default icons with the challenge that the first one to change it lost. That went on for a few years, then I decided to change my lj layout and wanted an icon to match. Guess that means I lost!

I have to tell you that angstslashhope has always been my favorite LJ name. It just seems so fitting for a slash fic reader or writer. It always makes me smile.
