GAH. SCHMOPE. You know that awful cliche about being worth the wait. This was wonderful! AND GRATE AND OMG LICK YOUR HAIRS CHEW GIGGLE FLAIL. I am really crap at feedback and will need to read this at least a couple more times before I can be coherant, but yes, you rock so hard. I love the way you built the tension between them, and the whole case and judy and their interaction was so perfect, that I was totally sucked in and my stomach totally flip flopped when they got to the hair chewing. And then there was much hotness. But actually I think my favourite part was the last little bit:
Hanson mutters something unintelligible and rolls over onto his side, his breathing settling into a softer, steadier rushing sound that makes Doug feel like he’s in the inside of a seashell, the sound curling soft and pink around him, smooth, inexorable like the movement of waves.
That was so perfect and vivid it literally hurt my heart, in the good way. Schmoe-t-p! HARTHART. when is the next one aye?
this story is amazing! your descriptions are so spot on and I loved the interactions with Judy. The whole scene where Doug forgot the handcuffs is priceless, v. amusing. My favorite line has to be this:

The smallness of this fandom is wonderful. It means that a girl who's only ever seen one episode of the show in question can still be a valid part of said fandom.
I think it works because that's just the kind of dynamic the characters have. It can get awkward if you force it on them (i.e. "OMFG, EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE WEASLEY TWINS ARE GAY FOR EACH OTHER, THEY JUST HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT YET!!!!!111!!1"), but that's the way these two are.
you've only seen one episode??? get a hold of the rest!! they are so so excellent. and relatively cheap, too ;) it's very much worth it.
small fandom has it's pluses and minuses... on plus side, you know everyone and know everyone's reading; on minus side, you know everyone and know who's not leaving feedback... heh. luckily i live with about half of the fandom, heee.
I had an eighties enthusiast friend who showed me the pilot. But unfortunately, she moved to Oregon not long after that. I didn't even manage to steal any of her clothes. But grandparents WILL do things like send you $200, so it is off to Best Buy I go, once Spring Break starts.
I enjoy the feeling of knowing everyone. It's quite cozy. But maybe one day it will get huge and then I can go around being all, "You know, in my day..."
I love the tone in this; the mix of comedy and good-natured hijinks. There was a good mix of standard school-of-the-week plot and pants-too-tight substory, and your descriptions were groovycool.

I'm quite quite late in stumbling across this, but I just had to let you know how much I adore it :) Quite wonderful, really, I bow down to you. Characterization and dialogue and writing and such is all brilliant, and this:
