This is one of my favorite tableaux. I may have "written" this.. several times over.
I've never really been curious enough to pay attention to fandom before. Is it usually like this? Everyone in each other's heads all the time? I find it fascinating.

With this fandom? Fuck, yes. It is fascinating and also kinda weird.
Oh, girl. Shit. Damnit fuck, this is so much better than the stupid-ass sloppy porn I was thinking about, holy god yes.
So beautiful, the way you write, with his tensing arm, and the soft-lit hair on his arms, and doesn’t matter so much, when they all live in each other's skin anyhow. YES, and A stiff wind'd get you going,, YES, dear god John...his voice is *right on*, especially at the end when he tells Dean to sleep...and you've made a statement here with the whole feeling of the piece...
okay, so they are all brothers and father, family, but there is something else they are too, and it's like...this tumble of survivors, which makes for all these little strange confusions and disassociations and isolations between them. I feel them gravitate towards one another, but there is still this *unfamiliarity* between them, like Dean and Sam cannot really grasp there father, and he cannot really be a father in return, not fully. I can't explain it, but it's here. I love how Dean wants to wake Sammy, how close and warm they are, Sammy-Dean. So lovely, I can't get over them.
God and he's crying, and I believe it, and you skated an edge with BAD!WINCEST, which makes it the *best* kind, because omg, they're all men and this kind of thing would happen!...and and...

...yeah, that's about it, isn't it? I wasn't thinking about it in as clear terms as that when I wrote it, but hooray for it coming through nonetheless!!
YOU LIKE IT. YOU REALLY LIKE IT!
They're all men. Manly men. Except for the canonical crying and bed-sharing and mothering and whatnot. Yep.
Intense. And hot as hell. You capture this emeshed, masculine clash of sexuality so well. There's danger here, and longing too. Just *am speechless* love this.
And onelittlesleep? This line: tumble of survivors, which makes for all these little strange confusions and disassociations and isolations between them. just *waves hand* sums up a thesis worth of family dynamics analysis in a line of poetry.
Oh..yes. yesssss. Brain is not awake today, I wish I could say better and more, because it's well deserved. But they are all spot on, Dean's need for sammy beside him and yet protecting him is imperative, and John crying and jerking off and Dean, half there, half not there, and wondering, and the forced intimacy...wonderful. Sweaty. *g* thank you.
Thank you for the feedback! It kind of felt like a risky subject/scenario, like it would be easy to over-dramatise, or make OOC... I'm really glad it worked. Thanks :)
I love this -- how John's not actually crying after all, and then he is, and how he knows that Dean's awake and they're all just a little closer than they really should be, and Dean has this kind of knowledge pressed upon him... oh, it's wonderful. Thanks.
