Oh, Hope. What your writing does to me. This is fabulous and brilliant and..... *can't find the words* The reader can "hear" everything and "see" everything and it's so poignant and perfect.

I loved the imagery, the character voices, and most epecially the conversation at the end between John and Dean.

The Pepsi is flat, warm when he drinks it, and after he pushes the empty bottle under the passenger seat then lets his hand stroke around there a bit longer, feeling the treasures. Soft-cornered Batman comics, an empty tobacco tin with one corner dented in. An oily woolen hat that had been Dad’s, that Sammy had worn all winter. He pulls the hand-me-down jacket over his head and it makes his breathing louder, makes the light cooler.

You have the most amazing ability to describe details; so much so that I can see everything you describe. Also, your imagery...just wow.

I love this by the way. There's a bittersweet quality to what's going on. It's interesting to see Sam-Dean-John dynamic and for some reason I'm imagining this as a turning point/change in their relationship with one another. Plus I see symbolism, lots and lots of symbolism. Am I imagining that? 'Cause I swear I'm seeing themes and symbolism regarding Sammy growing up but still needing this family. ^^; Sorry in advance if I;m just reading to much into it. I was never good in English anyway.

Lovely job! You are my one of my favorite pre-series writers!

I'm trying to syndicate your writing account to JF and it's saying it's too big, but these three steps I just copied and pasted should fix the problem, only the journal owner has to do it. If you're willing to help that is?

1. Go here: http://www.livejournal.com/admin/console/

2. Paste this (changing "user/community" to the right name, ex: stele3) into the box: set for user/community synlevel summary

3. Click execute.

thanks for your time.

I found the part with Sam and Dean making a cavern out of the sleeping bag particularly memorable. There was something in the way the two interacted that seemed so authentic, the way they would strive to carve out something for themselves from John's agenda.
