How about - photos out of some of your windows (doesn't need to include any that identify neighbors). Could include work windows.

Photos of your bookshelves. Or stacks. Or whatever they are.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply to this - I've had this tab open for ages to guilt me into finishing the meme! (Eventually I'll get there...)

I'm no expert on customising themes, but I followed instructions from here: http://community.livejournal.com/thefulcrum/27856.html

And picked up the theme here: http://community.livejournal.com/thefulcrum/23800.html#cutid2

And just modified some of the CSS to get the fluid width and font colours/sizes/faces I liked.
