whee!  watched the faculty again this afternoon.  god, i love that movie in all its crappy crap crapness.  actually watched in in preparation for writing another essay, this time the gaze and gender power in the faculty.  woot.  making screencaps now.

casey sure does have a thing for those scary insect-esque things, doesn't he? the link between casey's seeming obsession with that and the whole hornets football team thing makes me think that it might be more than just one big reference to the giant insect films of the 50s.  then again, the monster that appears in the film isn't the original design - they had to come up with a new one at the last minute because the original design was leaked.  maybe the original monster was more insect-esque?

anyway.  i'm thinking more and more that you could read the film as one big hallucination/fantasy of poor old casey.  it works.
