Er, for those of you who are puzzled; the way it goes is this: It's set up like a challenge, only instead of a prompt that you receive, you 'remix' another participant's story. I.e you re-write it from a different character's viewpoint. so it's not really a sequel or follow up in that story's 'verse, or fanfiction of the original story, where the events are changed - it really is a remix, a different version/view of the same story.
There's a degree of anonymity (a la Sekrit Santa/Kris Kringle) for a while after the stories are posted, and participants can nominate a couple of stories that they *don't* want remixed, if they're sensitive about one/some in particular. That said, they need to have a body of work (like, more than 4 stories, I think?), the participant who is assigned them has to choose a story from that body of work (you don't get to choose which story of yours is remixed).
I think a Supernatural fandom remix challenge thing would be cool. It could have some specifications, like people could say if they were happy to read or receive slash/wincest stories, or only gen stories, that kinda thing.
edit: okay! apparently

I'm kinda amused, though. In this fandom, more than any other I've been in, I swear we have a collective consciousness. There are so many vid and fic ideas I get that sprout up immediately afterward, it's fascinating.
