Okay, so on my theory about the devil’s trap Sam drew on the car, other reasons they won’t be dead (aside from the obvious ‘what, they’ll have a second season without any Winchesters at all?’ thing): The demon obviously wants Sam alive. Sam serves a purpose for the demon. And Dean and Sam are pretty irrevocably unseparable. Like, if Dean was killed/taken away from Sam, I think the consequences would be dire, and not beneficial to the demon. Even if this wasn’t entirely the case in the shack, I think that was a turning point in terms of Sam(/)Dean, and it most certainly is the case by the time that BIG FUCKING TRUCK comes along. Daddy, on the other hand? Will easily further demon’s cause by being sacrificed. But Dean’s like a tumour that is too dangerous for the demon to remove from Sam. In a way. (This is why I don’t really agree with all the “but why didn’t the demon just possess another of them?” argument people keep bringing up; because that doesn’t serve the demon’s purpose.)

Then again, it did try to kill them with a monster truck (which, maybe... maybe Sam has turned out to be not as susceptible to manipulation as the demon anticipated? thus he will no longer serve his purpose, and rather is a threat?). Or, its babies did (and who says they always do what Daddy Demon wants, anyway?).

Anyway, I’m rambling. Ramble ramble. Must be that jumbo coffee I just had.
