some REALLY great updates! loved that you acknowledged "On the Road" - it's worth reading, I can only recommend it - there are some neat parallels between the Dean character in On the Road e.g. and Dean or the Winchester brothers in general.

I loooove the laundry list - I find it interesting that it's comfirmed how much more of a fashion victim Sam is and how Dean absolutely doesn't care about what he's wearing as long as it serves its primary function of providing warmth and covering up being totally naked. ;-)

@the music: There was a girl who analzyed every song in SPN - she had an interesting theory about how every song played in SPN is indeed well thought about. - I can't remember where I read this, though.

And then there was this other girl, [livejournal.com profile] stormwolf, who had a map of the boys' travels. here (http://stormwolf.livejournal.com/70989.html). Maybe that's interesting as well.

Hon, you're doing such an awesome job with this. *loves*

Hope's actually asked me to do a more detailed breakdown of the influences of On the Road on Supernatural, a la your own very useful Campbell mapping. I suspect we have similar reading tastes! So that will be coming sometime in the next week or two.

If there's any particular moment or facet you strongly feel needs to be included in the comparison, feel free to drop me a note.

Hmm, I'd have to read On the Road again for that! Haven't read it in ages, literally ;-)

Btw - are you considering Neal Cassady's self-biography "The First Third" as well? After all, he WAS Dean Moriarty.

I asked Hope about that when she gave me my 'assignment'; she requested I just stick to On the Road for now. I guess I'll have to wait until her site takes over the world before I get to get that in-depth.

ahahahahaha! well, there's enough Dean Moriarty in On the Road, you don't need the "Dean Moriarty" in "The First Third", I guess. ;-) I still find it a very intersting read as a base material for understanding the character "Dean" in On the Road. (PS: It was me who added that little blurb about On the Road to Wikipedia).
