Now that would be a plot point I'd really get behind. Sam's hair becomes sentient! Dean approves, as it means Sam no longer has an excuse to talk about his feelings - Sam's hair just flops in his face if he's feeling pissy.
...okay, that image is actually really adorable. I'm picturing Dean and Sam figuring out it's its own little possessed thing in season one, but it wasn't causing trouble and Sam had grown attached, so they decided to just keep it.
Especially as it totally, like, starts barking one night and wakes them up when something breaks into the motel room. Dean is totally accepting after that, even feeds it little snacks while Sammy's sleeping in the car, even though Sam's told him that chocolate's bad for it, Dean, don't feet it M&Ms, it makes it all greasy!
I... am hoping it's just an experimental will-be-explained/touched-on/mocked-by-Dean in the episode specific thing? o____0
I honestly like Sam's normal hair - I mean, it's so obviously a zombie tribble busily feasting on his brains and getting steadily fatter every week, and what's not to love about that? (Seriously though, I hart it lots omg. *pet pet*)
BUT THEN HE AND ASH COULD LIEK, FLIRT OVER THEIR MATCHING OUTFITS! WHILE ASH GIVES HIM POINTERS ON GROWING THE PERFECT MULLET. AND THEN THEY SHARE ANOTHER BEER.

GOD FINALLY. all through the last two episodes i (and moreso with 2.02) ive been saying "sammy needs a haircut." "sammy really needs a haircut" "omg, sammy really needs a haircut"
oh come on! tell me you saw how a little section of his hair stuck out in a very awkward angle in 2.02? its...it looked like a little WING just sticking out from his EAR.

i think i am the only person in all fandom who never even NOTICES sam's hair. seriously, i just--if that is weird hair, i must have totally wacked-out standards, because it totally just slides past my brain. *ruffles him*
