Ah, but don't you see? If Dean acknowledges that Sam was at college for four years (Like he did in Hookman) and also acknowledges that he hasn't heard from Sammy in two years (Like in the Pilot) then that fits your MAGICAL CANON perfectly.

I know, because I also share this MAGICAL CANON with you.

And? It just occured to me that Dean arrives in the pilot calling him Sammy and he seems genuinely surprised to be told "It's Sam." Factoring in the TRUTH that two years ago he talked to Sammy I think it's safe to conclude that Sammy became Sam right about the time they stopped speaking, six months (There it is again!) before starting to date Jess.

Because Sammy loved talking to his brother until one or both of them fell asleep, borrowing his friend's cell phones when his battery died and usually spending the better part of four hours just sitting on the phone listening to Dean drive.

And then one day one of his friends, a chick, mentions that she thinks it's sweet that he's still with his boyfriend (Cause she's totally heard him call the phone Dean on a few occasions) even though he's away at college. That makes Sammy freak a little and prompts this huge Change.

I noticed on the Character Specs portion that Dean's police record states he is 6'4" (Jensen Ackles is 6'1"), but Sam's police record states that he his 6'4" as well (which is Jared Padalecki's actual height.)

There is one oopsy that I thought you guys might want to know about though. In your info on Bobby Singer you have his place of residence listed as West Virginia. If you check the scene where you first see Bobby's house his tow truck has South Dakota state license plates 9N03L1.

In the Character Specs area I noticed an error in the list for minor characters by episode.

In episode 1.11 Scarecrow Emily not Holly, is the girl doomed to sacrifice with Dean.

I've been trying to figure out the year, but John's car is a GMC Sierra Classic stepside from between 1980-1988. It took me awhile to match that visually, but there's a model change in 1980 and again in 1988.

Dean: Dad's journal. Here, look at this. First page, first sentence... read that.

Was discussing with labellementeuse in this (http://community.livejournal.com/spn_possession/17875.html?nc=14) post Winchester fluency in Latin + Latin in the series in general, and I had an investigate of the protocol behind blessing holy water (because the thought of John being an ordained priest tickled my fancy). Turns out you (probably, in SPN canon at least) don't have to be ordained to bless holy water, because the ritual is actually basically an exorcism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_water#Rituals_and_uses_of_holy_water).

Exorcizo te, creatura aquæ, in nomine Dei Patris omnipotentis, et in nomine Jesu Christi, Filii ejus Domini nostri, et in virtute Spiritus Sancti: ut fias aqua exorcizata ad effugandam omnem potestatem inimici, et ipsum inimicum eradicare et explantare valeas cum angelis suis apostaticis, per virtutem ejusdem Domini nostri Jesu Christ: qui venturus est judicare vivos et mortuos et sæculum per ignem.

The bolded bits sound to me like what John says in "Salvation". Interesting that they skipped Jesus. The Wikipedia article also has a full translation. One is also supposed to exorcise some salt and add it to the water, which John doesn't do, incidentally.

Just a heads up. I thought this was pretty interesting, even though it means (damn it) that I have to relinquish my vision of priest!John.

There is a slight tendency to slash Sam or Dean with a character that was played by either Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki in another tv-series or movie. (e.g. Sam/Jake from Devour, Sam/Alec from Dark Angel, Dean/Dean from Gilmore Girls). (http://supernatural.oscillating.net/index.php?title=Slash)
