I'm still not over the anachronistic DNA analysis thing, though, which wasn't even invented until 1984, and looking for DNA traces was certainly not a standard crime scene thing then. It still makes me roll my eyes at whoever wrote and edited the website.

Yeah, but DNA evidence isn't at all connected to the supernatural parts of the premise. I mean, I have no problem with comic book science, or fantasy assumptions and such, those are part of the genres, e.g. I'm not going to complain that they don't provide scientific explanations for how werewolves work or whatever. But otherwise we are supposed to believe their world is like ours, and mistakes that break illusion that are just as jarring for me as they are in other series.

PS: I had a go at translating some of the runes, I didn't get very far, mostly (maybe it's just my crap book) they were Protection and the odd Joy runes or combines of two or three runes. They can be combined to create sentence like thingies. I'll post a comment with what I could translate later.

Oh, also. I've been squinting at #30 there. It appears that the same few paragraphs are just repeated over and over. The red circled one seems to be identical to the very first paragraph. (and just at a glance none of it appears to have any special relevance)
