Exactly the kind of crack police work I’d expect.

EDIT June 5, 2006:

I've now set up a website to better organise the information originally in this post:

ratcreature: zen? or not. Animated pic, that first shows RatCreature calm, then angry. (zen)

Yeah, but DNA evidence isn't at all connected to the supernatural parts of the premise. I mean, I have no problem with comic book science, or fantasy assumptions and such, those are part of the genres, e.g. I'm not going to complain that they don't provide scientific explanations for how werewolves work or whatever. But otherwise we are supposed to believe their world is like ours, and mistakes that break illusion that are just as jarring for me as they are in other series.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that read that and went "WTH??? DNA typing wasn't even discussed until 1985!!!" I mean, if they're going to be writing something set in the past, it would be nice if they did a little checking, you know?

I could've sworn the T-Ball mention was wrong, too, til I did a little research - who knew it had been around since the 60s? We sure didn't have it in my town growing up - not til the early 90s.
