This piece is so completely perfectly normal, and yet so them.

Wonderful slice of life.

The humour so funny, and still sort of bittersweet (you know they can't have had too many of these moments).

John blinks. "You're kidding me, right?" he says, beyond reprimand or argument at this stage, far into damp and cold-toed bewilderment. "What, the consistency of it not thick enough for you?"
