rofl, omg this was just too funny. :)

John realises at that moment that Sammy - or, more likely, Dean - has used the nameless brown goop to style Sammy's hair much like that of an Oompa-Loompa's.

Hee! I could see Dean doing that. Heck, I do that with the kids at work. One day I gave every single boy (in the infant room) a mohawk. Fun times.

There's a magnetic attraction between small boys and mud puddles/lakes. Winchesters naturally would dive in with all they've got. Cute story.

[identity profile] eloise-bright.livejournal.com 2007-07-06 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
Do you hear that sound? Over there, in your continent? Or perhaps it's too high-pitched for your ears, and only Ozzie mutts can hear me.

THIS is just perfect. Don't know who I love more, wee Sammy for refusing to walk through the parking lot mud, Dean for jumping on his back, or John for carrying Sammy like a piece of voodoo jewellery and giving Dean a piggy back.

I am so giving you PLOT again.

And I'm going to write some John/Dean for you. As a thank you.

n'awwwh :) - this is entirely squishable (post bath, obviously).

Small boys + mud + mohawks = ♥ + poor John :)

Oh God I just want to smish them all. I lveo your John here with his gorgeous wee dirty monkeys.

[identity profile] saberivojo.livejournal.com 2007-07-06 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh this was just wonderful. Thank goodness my kids never liked that Oopah-Loompa song. Continuous repetition of that would make me crazy. The thought of John driving with his head out the window makes me giggle. And carrying the boys into the motel. The visual is just perfect. Thank you.

That made me honestly laugh out loud. Heeee! John starts a new fashion trend: everyone needs a Sammy and a Dean to wear! (Washing optional.) Cuuuute!

[identity profile] beanside.livejournal.com 2007-07-06 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Heeee! I love this. So very, very much. I love poor, long-suffering John, and Sam, blissfully unaware. And Dean styling Sam's hair. And them both hanging on John like little limpets. So thoroughly awesome!

*nod*

This piece is so completely perfectly normal, and yet so them.

Wonderful slice of life.

The humour so funny, and still sort of bittersweet (you know they can't have had too many of these moments).

John blinks. "You're kidding me, right?" he says, beyond reprimand or argument at this stage, far into damp and cold-toed bewilderment. "What, the consistency of it not thick enough for you?"

I can hear my mother!

Wheeee! Oh, this is brilliant. Funny and vivid -- you have a way with details.

He feels like Godzilla, like Kong, slushy puddles like ankle-deep oceans, grappling hooks pulling on his shoulders and neck. He exaggerates his stride, lumbers with more sway and lets out a low moan that ends in a grumble.

Wonderful image. I love how put out he is yet so made of love too.

on the one hand, ew. (is it wrong that i feel bad for the car? i imagine she stinks to high heaven now.) on the other hand, SO SO CUTE. ^_^ sammy's cheerful disgustingness especially, and the way both boys hang off dad because the parking lot is too gross for them. heee.

Cute fic! I like that we don't know exactly what happened, but we know just enough to share John's horror. *g* I think my favorite image is at the end, when both boys are hanging off John as he heads inside. Too funny!

Favorite lines:

It's cold out, and with the wind chill factor exponentially so, but John's still driving with his head out the goddamn window like a dog.

*g*

John holds his breath until his ears start ringing, then sticks his head out the window again.

Poor John!

"Ewww," he says.

John blinks. "You're kidding me, right?" he says, beyond reprimand or argument at this stage, far into damp and cold-toed bewilderment. "What, the consistency of it not thick enough for you?"

LOL! I so love that Sam has standards.

and John realises at that moment that Sammy - or, more likely, Dean - has used the nameless brown goop to style Sammy's hair much like that of an Oompa-Loompa's.

Too funny! I can totally picture this, and it amuses me greatly.

This was hilarious! I'm sitting at work trying to stifle my laughter (because, after all, I'm supposed to be...um, working) and also trying not to choke. Beautifully done - thank you for sharing!

awwww, that is so adorable! I really loved it! the image of John carrying them both, covered in mud, is totally awesome! =D

That was hilarious (and scarily familiar). Thanks for answering [livejournal.com profile] eloise_bright's call to hugs.

Totally hilarious... I knew a youngster who had to "Wonkatize" every morning...and I have a t00by love of the movie, but can well sympathize that endless repeat would get...old...fast.

Lovely throwback (or throw forward, if you will) to the pilot and Dean covered in the river muck... "Dude, you smell like a toilet!"

Wee!Chester fic is love. And I love fics that capture the mischievous side we see in Hell House without devolving completely. Well done!

[identity profile] hansbekhart.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahah! That was fabulous. I loved the little details, like the cigarette butt clinging to John's boot and the utter delicious, disgusting descriptions of all that muck.

That was too cute! And a really inventive way to give a winchester a hug :-)

John's Godzilla act? PERFECT! (with puppy-dog-tail kids it's either laugh or cry, right?)

Thanks for this one, doll. :)

Yay.

that was ... SO CUTE. all of it, but especially when dean launched himself onto john and they all went lumbering across the parking lot.

Hee hee! Very cute if smelly!

LMFAO!!!!!
AWESOME! The imagery is just greta. You can totally picture it.
And frankly, it's such a normal "boys growing up with just daddy to take care of" situation!
Just...perfect!

Some favourites:

- John suddenly has an image of stirring the bathtub with a huge wooden spoon, like a boy-and-filth-and-teeshirt stew.

- Sam looks down at the murky-depthed, wheel-churned lake that the parking lot between the car and their room has become, and back up at John. "Ewww," he says.

John blinks. "You're kidding me, right?"

- Sam's expression turns from one of self-satisfied delight into something with a whole lot more lip-trembling, and John realises at that moment that Sammy - or, more likely, Dean - has used the nameless brown goop to style Sammy's hair much like that of an Oompa-Loompa's. The result is an alarmingly effective yank on John's heartstrings, so when Sammy hunkers his head down and holds his arms out, John leans over with barely even a pause.

- Arms outstretched, he begins to stagger toward the room. He feels like Godzilla, like Kong, slushy puddles like ankle-deep oceans, grappling hooks pulling on his shoulders and neck. He exaggerates his stride, lumbers with more sway and lets out a low moan that ends in a grumble. Then winces as Sammy shrieks, ridiculously pitched, directly into John's ear.

Just as long as Sammy doesn't start kicking, they'll probably make it to the bathtub without further fouling.

Well I left some stuff out :D

Dean styling Sam's hair... John playing 'monster' for the boys... Sam's good natured singing.

This is just delightful.
