cool! imdb now have a function that lets you make your saved list of movies public. eta: it appears that it's 'public' to all 'registered users' - you might as well just go ahead and register, only good will come of it ;D

or, maybe i should start from the start: imdb allows you to create an account with them and bookmark any entry (for a movie/show, not a person) you like, automatically creating a linked list of them for you. you can categorise the movies too. they call the feature 'my movies'.

anyway, as i'm obsessed with recording/organising things, i use this service to record all the movies i watch. i also use it to keep track of how many movies i'm seeing. in 2004 i saw over 90; i resolved to see at least 100 in 2005. well, now that you can make your categories public, here's the list of all the movies and complete tv series seasons i saw in 2005. 128 of them. i should note - these aren't new movies, these are just movies i'd never seen before 2005.

my progress boomed along in the first half of the year, then i fell in love with tv-on-dvd and spent many, many hours watching television when i could have been watching films :D

anyway, it's a really cool function, i like it lots.

now to have a poke at this del.icio.us that everyone's talking about.

I thought it was public all the time! Hahaha. I used it last year to keep track and it was grate. I'm tempted to include rewatches of movies, but I think i'll stick to "new to me this year" films. Plus, it helps my sieve of a brain remember at the end of the year what I saw.

OH FILM YAY!

Bah, short attention span of mine. I meant to go "YAY DELICIOUS!!" too. Also, if you want a backup of your delicious bookmarks, http://www.simpy.com/ is good, and foxylicious (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=342&application=firefox) lets you backup to your Firefox bookmark file!

Joy.

now to have a poke at this del.icio.us that everyone's talking about.

Oh, THAT'S what that is! I swear, that's been bugging me for about 8 months. I did the usual "google your username" thing and came up with bunch of snippets from my fics on LJ, interspersed with things like recipes for roast beef, links to children's picture books on Amazon, and a whole bunch of other weird Suburban U.S. Housewifely stuff. It was kinda creeping me out to see my name and my porn so mixed with other stuff I might conceivably need or want.

But it was just some random someone, much like myself, who happened to bookmark what I wrote! Mystery solved.

I feel like I'm in a Nancy Drew story.

Heh, I love my movie list! And del.icio.us is my latest favorite toy — great to create rec lists… :)
